Our Humanity In the Balance

OHIB going to Nuba Mountains

May 22, 2013 · 1 Comment

After much planning and the hard work of our determined board members and volunteers, Our Humanity in the Balance (OHIB) is proud to announce that a small team is going to the Nuba Mountains for our first ever assessment trip. The purpose of this trip is to assess conditions, gather information and develop strategic relationships for future deployment of an unarmed, intervention team.

This trip is an important milestone in reaching OHIB's goal of mitigating risks of mass atrocity crimes to civilians in conflict zones.

Terry Nickelson, OHIB Executive Director stated "We have prepared for this juncture for a long time and are very excited about the possibilities.  We feel we can offer a different perspective on possible outcomes through the application of tactics that could change the dynamics of the conflict between Sudan and North Kodofan State." The assessment team will report its findings to the board and the ground team planners.
